Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

Woah, it's been forever!

Hello, blog world. I'm sorry for dropping off of the face of the Earth.
School has been consuming my life, of course, but I'm getting by rather well.

In other news, OUR MONEY FOR AFRICA HAS BEEN RAISED! I am so excited. :)
There are at least 10 students and about 6 adults going & I am so pumped!

And you guys will never believe that I have been so good for my shots.at

Lemme tell ya that I am not one for needles in my arms. Ew. But since I have Africa babies to love and hold and cherish for a week, I'm willing. :D

I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for Ethiopia. I just know that it will be a blessing for me and a blessing for those babies. I am praying that every move we make will glorify God!

Other exciting news -
The student ministry at Frazer has taken on the task of raising enough money to feed an orphanage in Yetebon, Ethiopia (which the team will visit) for an entire year. I AM SO EXCITED.

God is doing great things in our student ministry. I can't wait to see what else he has to show us!

It's been quite a while

I haven't blogged in forevs, y'all.

What's really been on my mind lately is the mission trip to Ethiopia in July that I am to be a part of. Mama's trip is paid for. (Glory to God!) My remaining balance is about $250. Wow. I am amazed at how loving our friends are! I am so blessed to have people in my life who are willing to give up some of their income for our cause. Raising $5300+ in ~2 months has been nothing short of a miracle. God deserves all the credit. :)

I do have a prayer request -- Karlie Gill is a precious little girl with HUS (not sure what that stands for) but it's causing her a lot of pain. Please lift her and her family up.

Blessings to all with the New Year approaching! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Other News

Pardonnez-moi from my absence.

But these past couple of weeks have been insanely insane.

The life of a junior at LAMP in full bloom. Gotta love it.

In other news, mumsie and I have decided to go to Ethiopia next summer.
Yep. Africa.

I'm shocked, too. My first legit mission trip, out of the country? This is ridiculous.
But God called me, so I'm answering.
Plus we're helping orphans and evangelizing orphans and loving on some precious Ethiopian people.
Giving love? My favorite!

We've made a lot of progress with the support letters. It's amazing to see the giving hearts of the people we know. Of course, I despise asking people for money... But hey, God wants us in Africa, so we have to get there somehow. I am super thankful for his followers who are willing to financially sacrifice for other people. It's amazing.

If you would like to give, Mom created a chip-in fund and it should be on the right side of my blog, if you'd like to donate via debit/credit card. However that works.

We are also having a Spirit Night at Eastchase Chick-fil-a on Thursday, November 17th from 4-8. 20% of the proceeds go to our mission trip money.
Christian Chicken AND fundraising?
Perfection.

Thank you guys for your prayer support as well as your financial support. We couldn't raise this money without y'all.

"Seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need."
Matthew 6:33

News

Wow. Joshua is home. Like home.

He looks amazing. I am in awe of how GOOD God is. God is a miracle worker. Literally.
There is no way that boy would be alive without God.

That little valve tube thingy (I'm so medically educated, can't you tell?) should have closed up a long time ago and ended his life.

But God knew that a family would be called to save him from his old life and go to the ends of the Earth to make sure he could have life.
It's amazing. God. Is. Good.

Love poured out onto a little orphan boy. And now he can be normal.

His replacement pulmonary valve thingy sticks out of his chest. There's skin covering it, but you can still see the outline of it. Sonia said she might get him a football plate shirt protector thing so it doesn't get hurt.

Praise God.

Of course, little J wants to run and play like his brothers. And he can. :D

WOW is all I can say.

In awe of you, God. You deserve the honor and the glory.

This weekend

Two words: much needed.

It's funny how I was talking to my man Taylor just hours before Girls retreat about how I always feel like I'm not pretty enough or worthy enough for anyone. Little did I know what God was going to do Friday night.

It started off with some Zumba that kicked my butt. No, seriously. It was crazy. I've never exercised like that before, but after finishing, I felt amazing. Following my butt-kicking, of course, there was lots of candy and caffeine. Butt kicking and then butt growing? Come on, L Matson! ;)

It was late. I was tired. But then session came around. Amazing worship. Awesome speaking.
Wow. "The King is enthralled by your beauty."

I guess I didn't understand the complete meaning of "enthralled." God thinks I'm gorgeous.

God's opinion > Taylor's opinion
or any other person's opinion.

Girls (especially my age) struggle with the whole "I'm ugly/fat/stupid" thing all the time. I did for the longest time.

Why?

Our speaker put it like this: "Every time you look in the mirror and point out an imperfection, you tell God He made a mistake."

God? Mistakes? Not possible.

So why do we do it? This is a question I've been struggling with since Friday night.

Remember that

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord is worthy to be praised."
- Proverbs 31:30

Prayers needed

Joshua needs prayers.

Please continue to pray for the Sonia Handlin Martin family and JJ.
He is struggling with all the bloodflow and oxygenation his body is
getting as it has never had that before. Please pray for continued
healing for this sweet little fighter that has come so far and for his
family especially his momma as she sits at the hospital with him. For
those of us momma's, I cannot imagine how she is feeling and how
very tired she must feel.

(Taken from some lady's Facebook status! Thank you!)

So he needs some assistance from our friend upstairs.

In other news, I tie-dyed tonight. Weird, huh? School has bogged me down since day 1 so I haven't done any type of t-shirt coloration in quite some time. OH, AND MY BLOG HAS A TIE-DYE BACKGROUND. So perfect, right?! :D

I am also in need of prayer. God called me to Haiti during summer. The youth group is going next June and God wants me to go. I want to go. Haiti needs love and loads of it.

If you would like to donate towards the lotsofmoney it costs to go, please contact me! I wish I could put my numba on here, but yano... safety. Donations are not mandatory, but welcome. :) Prayers are much needed!

Hugs and kisses,
Toni
